Globally the top 1% of the population controls nearly all of the wealth of the world. I use the tricycle to represent society, this is signified by the wealthy people relaxing at the top of the tricycle, with exclusive access to the steering handle. While the small and skinny workers are like hamsters, endlessly run on its wheel. Without them, society will fall apart. My conceptual work visualises the problems related to the income gap. In order to present this idea through a tricycle, I made chubby figures with clay and painted them with bright acrylic paint showing how people with control are relaxed whereas, people on the wheel made with tape can never escape this cycle.
