School Mascot Project
For this project, I wanted to design a mascot for my high school school since it does not have one.
Medium: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator

I drew out various combinations of thumbnails using animals, humans and even fruits. Out of these characters that I chose the kiwi and football player and did various ideation sketches.

Of the two design, I decided to go with Tiki the Kiwi Cop School Mascot. Taking the dual aspects of cuteness and creepiness of mascot characters, I took these elements in my final mascot design. From the sketches that I chose from, I did front, back and side drawings in order to explore the mascots in more detail. The actual texture of a kiwi is presented in the face and legs in order to vividly present the character.

In preparation for scene design, I designed various buildings thumbnails inspired by both Korean schools and American schools. After designing the outside of the building, I chose a design for the final building design. Furthermore, after, the final building, I designed the whole of the school and drew the top, front and side view of both the school and the classrooms.

In this painting, I wanted to depict the initial image that came into my head when I thought of the first day of school. I designed a school mascot inspired from a kiwi, displaying its creepy but cute looking features. The kiwi acts as a police safely guiding the students to their classroom. The kiwi is also a police mascot since I wanted to convey the message of security and safety for the students in school and wanted to break the fear created due to the recent current events in the world.

In this painting, I wanted to depict the initial image that came into my head when I thought of an elementary school classroom. I designed a classroom that not only contains features of a typical Korean classroom but also included colourful and creative features of an American classroom. The mascot; kiwi acting as a police is also in the classroom giving a lecture about safeguarding. Through this scene I wanted the convey the message of warmth and activeness that can be felt in a classroom.
